What can I do with these pictures?
The CD you will be sent contains two things:
- A set of photographs. These are normally 2100 x 1600 JPG images, saved
at a high quality (quality 11 in Photoshop Elements)
- A slideshow of the images, which can be viewed on a PC running Microsoft
Windows. This will, on most PCs, start automatically when the CD is put
into the computer's CD drive
So, what can you do with the pictures?
If you do not have a PC:
- Take your CD to a local branch of Boots, Jessops, or even
Asda or Tesco. Many of these shops now have "digital photo kiosks".
Here you can browse through your photographs, choose which ones you'd like
to have printed, and tell the machine to print them. Within a few
minutes you can have glorious prints made, indistinguishable from those
taken on a traditional camera! Not only that, but these shops can sell
you a wide range of gifts (mugs, calendars etc) with your pictures on them
- Do you have a DVD player? Many DVD players can play
the photographs on these CDs - just pop the CD into the drive and watch the
pictures on your television.
If you do have a PC:
You can see a slideshow of all your pictures just by putting the CD in the
drive, but you might want to think of other things. But there are many
more things you can do, such as:
- Print your pictures on your home printer
- Send your pictures to an online retailer (eg PhotoBox)
who will print them and post them out to you
- Copy the pictures to your PC's hard drive, and use the
"My Pictures" screensaver to show them off to people when you're away from
your computer
- Use them in websites and blogs to let the world see how
good you were!
Why not
drop me a line
and tell me any other ways you're using your photos?
